Mo Kim’s “propaganda”—propaganda in the sense of promoting and inciting particular ideas or claims—is a campaign-oriented body of work advocating the reduction of carbon emissions through the appropriation of various visual formats such as posters, banners, and picket signs.

Although scientists state that the carbon dioxide produced by human respiration is unrelated to climate change, Kim constructs the exhibition around images of people holding their breath as an irrational means of reducing carbon emissions.

Active both in Korea and abroad, Kim employs somewhat unconventional ideas in works where humor and sadness coexist, while conveying a message of environmental protection to viewers. The exhibition will feature approximately twenty works reflecting the artist’s perspective on carbon emissions.
