The Bupyeong-gu Cultural Foundation in Incheon Metropolitan City(President Lee Younghoon) will present 《Nuance》, a solo exhibition by Pyoun Daesik, winner of the 5th Bupyeong Young Artist POP Prize, at Gallery Kkotnuri of Bupyeong Arts Center for ten days from September 22 to October 2.

The “Bupyeong Young Artist Open Call,” launched in 2015, is a public competition program designed to discover and support promising emerging artists in the field of visual arts in Korea.

Applicant artists are selected by expert review as five final Bupyeong Young Artists, and the final POP Prize artist is chosen through on-site expert evaluation and voting by a public jury. Past artists include Kim Sujin, Daniel Kyung, Shin Jaeun, and Jung Haemin.

The exhibition 《Nuance》 is a solo exhibition by Pyoun Daesik, who received the final POP Prize as a 5th Bupyeong Young Artist in 2020, and is held prior to the exhibition of the 6th Bupyeong Young Artist selected artists in 2022.

Through this exhibition, Pyoun Daesik will present 15 works, including 《Blask Lead Mirror》. In addition, during the exhibition period, the artist will also present a performance in which he continues working in the exhibition space so that viewers can directly observe both the process and the result of the work.
