《Einstein on the Beach》 is an exhibition that explores moments of boundary where different orders and sensations intersect. Just as land and sea constantly advance and retreat without leaving behind a fixed boundary, forms and meanings within the picture plane also repeat processes of change and movement without converging toward a single center.

The exhibition title is borrowed from Philip Glass and Robert Wilson’s opera Einstein on the Beach(1976). Like the structure of the performance, which creates a nonlinear sense of time through repetition and variation and the juxtaposition of fragmentary images, this exhibition presents works that explore within painting the state before meaning is completed and the sustainability of sensation.
