BB&M presents 《Magnetic Fields》, an exhibition of five representative Korean contemporary artists from the gallery.

Composed of artists working across various media including painting, sculpture, and video, the exhibition introduces major new works by artists who have worked in different ways and positions, yet have continued to play leading roles in their respective fields.

Led by works by Lee Bul, a Korean contemporary artist receiving global attention, this exhibition introduces new works by Bae Youngwhan, whose practice, loosely connected to “post-Minjung” art and combining the underside of Korean modernity with neo-conceptual strategies, has exerted significant influence on the contemporary art scene.

It also presents new painting series by Woo Jungsoo, one of the most closely watched young painters in Korea today, who is scheduled to hold a solo exhibition at BB&M this fall, and by Jin Han Lee, who was selected for major London art awards such as Bloomberg New Contemporaries and Saatchi New Sensations and was recognized early on for her high artistic quality.

In addition, the exhibition includes a VR work by Kim Heecheon, who has received international attention for videos dealing with Korean society, where technology has emerged as an urgent topic of the times, and diverse cultural phenomena of the post-internet era.
