Since 2008, siren eun young jung has been tracing the community and members of Yeoseong Gukgeuk, a genre of performing arts that gained significant popularity in the 1950s. Her long-term art project investigates the historical origins and social implications of this unique art form. Yeoseong Gukgeuk evolved as a modernized performance genre based on the traditional Korean art of Pansori, and it is uniquely characterized by the principle that all roles—both male and female—are performed exclusively by women.

jung perceives this distinct feature of Yeoseong Gukgeuk as a form of anomaly, achieved by intentionally "misperforming" conventional and normative genres of theater. The myriad fragments of images and language filling this exhibition disrupt the sequences of well-ordered structures, suggesting an archive that is inherently impossible and uncertain.
