Artist’s Note

Through work that deconstructs and expands the meaning of femininity, I sought to actively confront the compulsions that affect individual identity. Femininity expressed through the artistic process of splitting the meaning of an object appears as a new perspective and concept.

Feminine space returns the subject to the primordial and leads the subject into the process of generating its own meaning. Within it, the subject constantly encounters a new self and comes to embrace the meaning of its own incompleteness.

Therefore, I sought to reinterpret Chora, as a feminine space, as a force through which the subject’s primordiality is represented, a space in which the subject’s identity is deconstructed, and a way of intersubjective life in which the subject becomes mixed with others who feel heterogeneous while still securing difference from them.
