The title of the exhibition, Iktsuarpok, is a unique word from the Inuit language that refers to the feeling of anticipation that makes one repeatedly look outside in expectation of someone’s arrival.

In 2020, countless plans were disrupted by an unforeseen pandemic, and everyday life was thrown into crisis under the paradoxical condition of “social distancing.”

This exhibition seeks to capture and convey two deeply interconnected and opposing emotions—anxiety and consolation—arising from the disease that weighed heavily upon society as a whole.
