This exhibition narrates various symbolisms and meanings of “light and the shadows beneath it,” illuminated under the autumn moonlight, through the perspectives of participating artists.

In “light within Chupung Midam,” the absence of light—darkness—carries meaning in human life, and through the metaphor of “light and shadow,” the exhibition expresses a time of reflection on individual life by evoking various emotions associated with “light” in one’s existence.

It also portrays the inner world of King Jeongjo by expressing both Jeongjo and the human figure Yi San through light and shadow. Furthermore, it presents the coexistence of tradition and contemporary art through the fusion of the traditional aesthetics of Yuyeotaek within Hwaseong Temporary Palace and contemporary artworks.

Through the special exhibition 《秋風美談 : The Moving Story in Autumn Breeze》 at Hwaseong Temporary Palace, it is hoped that visitors will experience the diversity of contemporary art alongside the autumn night in October, and that it will become a meaningful encounter within their personal lives.
