Daegu Art Factory presents 《A Garden Born from Flames》 as its first experimental project of 2025. The project is curated by Minwoo Park, Minjung Kim, and Byungeun Tae. 《A Garden Born from Flames》 explores the anger and conflicts of our time through psychological, philosophical, and artistic perspectives.

Centered on Sigmund Freud’s concept of “sublimation,” the project examines how primal desires and impulses can be transformed into creative energy. Art operates as a powerful mechanism that helps individuals and communities heal internal conflicts and seek new possibilities. This exhibition presents that transformative process through diverse artistic media.

Through multi-layered artistic practices including painting, installation, video, and performance, the project investigates how anger and anxiety can be converted into artistic forms. The participating artists capture the tensions of contemporary society and translate them into creative languages that encourage collective reflection. As viewers encounter the works, they are invited to reflect on their own inner states and to take part in a process of reconfiguring emotions and desires through artistic experience.

Rather than offering simple aesthetic appreciation, this experimental project proposes the possibility of sublimating social conflict into art. It suggests that the flames of anger can be transformed into creative energy, and that such energy may bloom again as a garden for both individuals and communities.
