As its final exhibition of 2024,
SH GALLERY SEOUL presents the five-artist group exhibition 《Your Marvelous World, and Art》, featuring
Korean and Japanese artists. The exhibition runs from December 19 to January 18
and is open to the public free of charge.
The world seems to reveal a
series of repetitive movements. These movements may connect into continuity or
break abruptly into fragments. At the same time, forces that integrate and
unify coexist with forces that diverge unpredictably, fragmenting and dispersing.
To some, these movements—their flows and rhythms—appear more distinctly.
Movements toward order and movements toward chaos. Yet not everyone perceives
them.
There are those who recognize them more quickly and precisely—those with
heightened sensitivity or exceptional talent and discernment. The marvel of a
world that infinitely expands while simultaneously infinitely contracts. A
painter’s image is always intense yet meticulously constructed, delicately
balancing concept and expression.
Here are five artists, each
living within different times and experiences. They share intuitions that
individual consciousness and life are in fact closely connected to humanity and
civilization as a whole; sensations of encountering an inexplicably powerful
vitality; everyday life and reality shaped by capital and commodities; lives
endured fiercely between existence and nonexistence; and transcendental thought
and ultimate liberation. Vast, eternal time and fleeting moments; time as
distant as the edge of the universe and time as intimately close without a gap.
