AVP Lab presented Songhee Noh’s solo exhibition 《DIZZY》 from October 12 to 29, 2023. In this exhibition, she newly structured the relationships between archives and video, diagrams and physical space, through a combination of new works and transformed versions of earlier pieces. Treating the audiovisual space itself as material, she remodeled previously concealed areas and designed an interior architectural structure that materialized the viewing trajectory of newly produced video works.

Since 2020, Songhee Noh has produced video works based on extensive tangible and intangible archival materials, collaborating with audiovisual platforms, individual artists, and art institutions. Through this process, she has transformed the status of archival materials and the practice of archiving itself into questions of visual systems and rhythmic structures. In 《DIZZY》, archives appear alongside the artist’s one-to-multidimensional relationships with them, materializing as diagrams, recording devices, and storage units—artifacts that function as autonomous components of the work.

Her ongoing investigation connects dictionary words beginning with “DI” and various fruit-like shapes, navigating shifts between digital time and real time, spaces saturated with data and entirely different sites where new exhibitions unfold. The “shape of the exhibition” she constructs takes on an architectural form that anticipates rooms and corridors, scale and movement, shaping the overall experience of the show.
