Artist Sangwoo Yoo focuses on sensory faculties that have been diminished in contemporary society and explores objects and materials embedded with temporal qualities. He highlights the intrinsic value of natural elements that have become marginalized or lost, and seeks the possibility of sensory restoration through experiences that move between the material and the immaterial.

This exhibition, 《Where Memory Becomes the Earth》, presents installations created by collecting discarded plants from downtown Chicago and public gardens, and reprocessing them into works that contain traces of time. Throughout the exhibition period, the works gradually fade under environmental conditions, and after the exhibition ends, they return to their natural state, acting as catalysts for new life.

Through his exploration of sustainable materials, the artist proposes new modes of encountering artworks and sustains his artistic practice within ecological cycles.
