《Squish! In the Forest》 is part of curator Eunha Chang’s ongoing project Post-sexual Futures (2022–), a long-term curatorial initiative that intersects contemporary art, ecology, queer theory, and sexuality studies. Participating artists include AFSAR×DAVRA, Sivas Tohos (Anchi Lin), Yagwang, and BARE. During the opening week, the program features a lecture by asexuality researcher Yoonhee Cho and an artist talk by AFSAR×DAVRA.

Post-sexual Futures held its first exhibition, 《Beings Swimming Towards the Waterfall》 (2023–2024), in 2023. Following this collaborative exhibition with Insa Art Space, the project will publish a book in the latter half of 2024 that synthesizes queer ecology and post-sexuality research through artistic practice. Serving as a bridge between the previous exhibition and the forthcoming publication, 《Squish! In the Forest》 focuses on bonds that move beyond sexuality-centered perspectives, aiming to propose new futures for understanding sexual and species diversity and for coexistence within nature.
