《Catwalk Global Trend Seoul – Time To Stage》, in which five artists reconstructed costumes worn by SM Entertainment artists into artworks through their own concepts, is presenting another possibility to the fashion world.

Although K-culture has swept across the globe while the progress of K-fashion remains comparatively slow, 《Time To Stage》 is being evaluated as a new direction that raises interest in Korean fashion through the convergence of K-pop and art.

Planned as part of the ‘2024 Catwalk Festa’ organized by ESteem, 《Time To Stage》 features artists Kira Kim, Sascha Pohle, Jaye Rhee, Yohan Hàn, and Hong Seung-Hye, each projecting their diverse artistic practices to reinterpret costumes worn by K-pop stars at their most radiant moments.
In particular, the exhibition gained further significance by creating a special exhibition space at the Express Bus Terminal — a bustling station of everyday life — and running the show there until October 20.

Hong Seung-Hye visualizes a time journey toward aespa’s childhood. The artist dressed wooden carved figures she produced in dresses reconstructed by dismantling and recombining costumes worn by the group on stage. Created in her distinctive formal language, Little aespa, æ-aespa presents a journey back to aespa’s younger days.

Meanwhile, ESteem plans not to limit the exhibited works to a one-time event, but to upload and sell them online in the future.
