At the 10th Seoul International Print Biennale, hosted by The Dong-A Ilbo and sponsored by the GeoPyung Group and Eagon Window & Door Systems, the Grand Prize was awarded to Lee Inhyeon (38, Korea) for his work Cabernet Sauvignon 1. The piece, distinguished by its expressive color diffusion, was commended for its sensitive articulation of a distinctly Korean emotional landscape.

The Excellence Awards were presented to three artists: Yuji Hiratsuka (USA) for Cactus, Takemi Azumaya (Japan) for Solar Eclipse, and Walter Jule (Canada) for Simple Diagram. The Acquisition Awards (through which The Dong-A Ilbo acquires the works) were granted to Sang-gon Chung (33, Korea) for Radiation—Phenomenon 5–3 and Jung Whan Sun (30, Korea) for Floating. The Grand Prize carries an award of USD 5,000 (approximately KRW 4.2 million), each Excellence Award USD 2,000 (approximately KRW 1.68 million), and each Acquisition Award USD 1,500 (approximately KRW 1.26 million). A total of 75 works were selected for exhibition, including 17 from Korea and 58 from overseas.

A total of 599 works from 45 countries were submitted to this year’s Biennale. In the case of Korea, a nomination-based submission system was adopted, in which 20 printmakers designated by the Biennale Organizing Committee each submitted two works. The prize-winning and selected works will be exhibited from the 3rd to the 15th of next month at the Ilmin Museum of Art in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.
