The 35th Lee Jung-seob Art Prize has been awarded to painter Yoon Dongchun (66). Regarded as a representative figure of pluralistic tendencies in contemporary Korean art, he has pursued diverse creative practices that reveal the artistic potential of everyday life.

The Lee Jung-seob Art Prize Selection Committee — Chung Young-Mok, Jung Jongmee, Kim Boggi, Kho Chung-hwan, and Kim Baik Gyun — convened last month and selected him in recognition of his sustained engagement across painting, sculpture, photography, and installation, transcending conventional boundaries of medium and fostering communication through his work.

The award carries a prize of 20 million won along with a commemorative plaque. The ceremony will take place on November 9 at 5 p.m. at Art Chosun Space in Seoul, and the award exhibition will be held from that day through November 21.
