Perigee Gallery presents the solo exhibition 《All the Interesting》 by Lee Dongwook, on view from June 9 to August 6. This exhibition showcases vibrant, colorful stones sourced from all over the world, intertwined to form unique landscapes. Composed of stones of diverse national origins and hues, these installations are entirely new works by the artist.

Lee Dongwook's previous works were known for his nude human sculptures, modeled after characters from commercial product labels such as sausages or canned corn. By placing these human figures inside the products themselves, he explored the condition of humanity within a capitalist society. In contrast, his latest exhibition introduces three new works made from stones.

The stones, collected from around the globe through eBay, can be seen as fragments of the Earth's surface. These geological surfaces resonate with the skin-like surfaces of his earlier human sculptures, emphasizing the artist's ongoing interest in the concept of surfaces. Lee views these surfaces as boundaries that distinguish the subject from the object.

While the stones collectively create a single landscape, they also assert their individuality, each stone revealing its own unique character. Through this, the artist explores the tension between surface and depth, as well as the coexistence of identity and otherness.

Regarding this, Perigee Gallery commented, "Lee Dongwook addresses the complex relationship between surface and depth in his own unique way. His works provoke contemplation on whether it is possible to reconcile the conflicting yet universal balance between coexistence and diversity."
