Sindoh announced on November 21 that it has held the certificate presentation ceremony for the winners of the 9th Sindoh Artist Support Program (SINAP) and selected three artists: Seoyoung Jang, Heemin Chung, and Doohyun Yoon.

Since 2011, Sindoh has been running SINAP as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, supporting promising contemporary artists annually. The three winners of the 9th SINAP are:

- Seoyoung Jang, an artist actively engaged in solo and group exhibitions both in Korea and abroad.

- Heemin Chung, known for her works that merge digital imagery with the characteristics of traditional painting.

- Doohyun Yoon, recognized for his installation works using diverse materials such as printed paper, plastic, and wood.

Each selected artist receives KRW 15 million in funding as part of an art sponsorship grant. The works and projects created with this funding will be showcased in 2020 at Sindoh Cultural Space, located at Sindoh’s Seoul headquarters. Established by Sindoh Chairman Woo Seok-hyung, this space aims to inspire creativity among employees and has hosted over 90 exhibitions to date, including support programs for emerging artists.

The jury for this year’s selection was led by Massimiliano Gioni, Director of the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. Beginning in June, the selection process involved preliminary reviews and research, followed by document screening and presentation evaluations based on criteria such as artistic completeness and potential for international exchange.

Regarding the selection, Massimiliano Gioni commented, “It was an enriching experience to once again be part of the SINAP jury and to witness the diverse artistic visions of Korea’s young artists in the digital age. I hope that the three selected artists can fully express their creativity and artistic potential through the SINAP program.”

Lee Chulwoo, Executive Director of Sindoh’s PR Office, added, “We sincerely congratulate the artists selected for the 9th SINAP program. Given the diverse media employed by these emerging artists, we are already looking forward to the 2020 exhibition at Sindoh Cultural Space.”
