The album artwork for ‘What I Should Do Tomorrow’ and ‘On The Street’ from the February issue of Repair, part of the 2013 《Monthly Project Yoon Jong Shin》 project, was created by artist Miseon Yoon. Yoon primarily creates two-dimensional works using fabric.

She said that as soon as she received the proposal, she found the project quite intriguing and could think of no reason to turn it down, adding that she was pleased to participate in the project at a time when she personally felt she might otherwise have become stagnant.

Q. What kind of image does Yoon Jong Shin have from an artist’s perspective?
A. I respect people who continue steadily in a particular field, whatever it may be. What I like about Yoon Jong Shin is that he remains consistent in his dedication to music while continuing to show creativity. I find that quality very appealing.

Q. What kind of process was necessary to incorporate the theme of “Yoon Jong Shin” into your own distinctive style?
A. My work fundamentally begins by focusing on the darker aspects of human beings rather than their brighter sides. This time, however, it was different.

With an emphasis on design elements, I wanted to simultaneously convey Yoon Jong Shin’s positive and multifaceted character, his sense of humor that is lighthearted without being frivolous, and his refined artistry. In terms of the actual production process, the method itself was the same as in my usual work, so it was not particularly difficult.

Q. If you have any personal anecdotes related to Yoon Jong Shin or his music, could you share one?
A. I remember unexpectedly becoming overwhelmed with emotion while listening to “In an Empty Street,” which Yoon Jong Shin sang as a guest vocalist for 015B. I happened to be walking down the street at the time and ended up bursting into tears right there. Working on this project brought back a lot of memories from that moment.

Q. How can people find more of Miseon Yoon’s work?
A. I post my work and recent updates on my website.
