Media artists UJOO+LIMHEEYOUNG and Lee Jungwoo have received Honorary Mentions at one of the world’s leading media art awards.

The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture announced on June 26 that “at Prix Ars Electronica 2026, announced on the 22nd, UJOO+LIMHEEYOUNG and Lee Jungwoo each received an Honorary Mention in the ‘Interactive Art+’ and ‘New Animation Art’ categories, respectively.” Both award recipients were selected for the foundation’s interdisciplinary arts support program last year and received support for the creation of their works.

Prix Ars Electronica is an award program operated since 1987 by Ars Electronica, the internationally renowned media art institution based in Austria. This year, 4,329 works from 106 countries were submitted for consideration. Previously, artist Ayoung Kim received the Golden Nica, the competition’s highest honor, in 2023, while artist Hoonida Kim received an Honorary Mention last year.
