The DOOSAN Yonkang Arts Awards are presented in two categories, performing arts and visual arts. This year, Eun Sung Kim (36) received the award in the performing arts category.

In the visual arts category, Ji Eun Kim (36), Sangdon Kim (40), and Jia Chang (40) were selected as recipients. The four awardees will receive benefits totaling KRW 400 million, including prize money and support for their artistic activities.

The recipient in the performing arts category will receive KRW 30 million in prize money, along with KRW 70 million in production support for a new work. Each recipient in the visual arts category will receive KRW 10 million in prize money, as well as support worth approximately KRW 90 million, including a residency at DOOSAN Residency New York, a solo exhibition at DOOSAN Gallery New York, and participation in a group exhibition at DOOSAN Gallery Seoul.

Chairman Yong Hyun Park said, “As expressed in Doosan’s corporate slogan, ‘People are the Future,’ Doosan places people at the center of everything and follows a management philosophy centered on nurturing talent. The DOOSAN Yonkang Arts Awards were established on the basis of this philosophy to discover artists and support them in gaining experience on a broader international stage.”

The DOOSAN Yonkang Arts Awards were established in 2010, the centenary of the birth of Doosan’s founding chairman, the late Too Pyung Park, in order to carry on his commitment to the importance of cultivating talent. The awards recognize artists aged 40 or younger in the performing and visual arts who demonstrate strong potential to promote the excellence of Korean art on the global stage.
