The Soorim Art Prize is a prize program that supports the creative activities of artists under the age of 50. Candidates are nominated by a committee of experts, and the winner is selected based on an assessment of their artistic potential and the quality and completeness of their practice.

This year’s judging considered eight nominated artists working across a range of contemporary art fields, including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and conceptual art. Following discussions among the jury members, Eun Chun was selected as the winner.

With a background in sculpture, Eun Chun has developed a practice that brings a sculptural sense of space to the medium of photography. The jury recognized her approach to capturing the sensory qualities and presence of her subjects, as well as the way she has expanded the scope of her artistic practice through interdisciplinary collaborations.

Established in 2017, the Soorim Art Award has produced a total of ten winners and continues to serve as a platform supporting the practices of contemporary artists. The winner receives a cash prize of KRW 30 million. The 2026 award ceremony is scheduled to take place this September.
