The National Asian Culture Center Foundation (ACC Foundation, President Kim Sunok) announced on the 30th that it is seeking domestic arts and cultural institutions and organizations to jointly present media art content through collaborative exhibitions.

The initiative aims to build sustainable networks through exchanges with public and cultural institutions in Korea and abroad, while expanding platforms for the circulation of media art. Applications will be accepted from February 1 to 8.

The collaborative exhibitions will feature 13 works presented through the ACC Media Wall Content Open Calls held between 2021 and 2022. The selection includes works appealing to audiences across generations, such as Cho Youngkak’s 9, Cloud, Dream, a contemporary reinterpretation of the Joseon-era Korean novel The Cloud Dream of the Nine, and Moon Changhwan’s A Prefabricated Scene, which collects and reconstructs old animal folktales from Gwangju.

Also included are Ana Inn: Harvesting Light by Strings 1826 and Bokyung Jun’s Machine Learning, both of which were invited to 《2022 Buk-gu Art Festival ACC Media Art Exhibition》.

Eligible applicants include arts and cultural institutions, public institutions, and private organizations equipped with facilities and equipment suitable for screening media art. Approximately five participating institutions will be selected through a document review process.

The works to be presented will be determined according to each selected institution’s exhibition environment and preferences. The ACC Foundation will provide the artworks, while participating institutions will be responsible for exhibition operation and promotion. Detailed eligibility requirements and further information are available on the ACC Foundation and ACC websites.

Kim Sunok, President of the ACC Foundation, stated that collaborative exhibitions with arts and cultural institutions across Korea would allow audiences nationwide to encounter ACC Foundation media art in diverse forms. She added that she hoped many institutions would participate, helping to establish sustainable collaborative networks and expand public access to culture.
