《Nang-Man-Chang-Jeon》, meaning “romance filling the space before the window,” takes as its theme the state of mind of the literati, who delighted in nature as it was while contemplating the generative forces of the universe.

The works presented in the exhibition express the world we have long imagined, as well as the life reflected within it, through the concept of an ideal realm. Grounded in Eastern philosophies of nature, they also encompass the life of the cosmos and the natural world, at times giving themselves over to romantic reverie and lyrical contemplation.

The representation of inner objects and forms creates a metaphorical space for the human psyche, expanding into a contemplative realm that reflects the thoughts and emotions of the viewer.

Departing from everyday life and freely traversing time and space, the exhibition invites viewers to imagine themselves as scholars in a utopian paradise, dreaming of a life of poetic leisure and experiencing a literary sensibility.

Set within an idealized space where distinctions between past and present dissolve, the exhibition brings together works across diverse genres and stimulates the viewer’s imagination through romantic scenes poised between ideal and reality.
