The 50th anniversary exhibition of the Modern Space Association, titled 《1968 Modern Space 2017》, was held at the Kim Chong Yung MUSEUM from June 9 to July 2 in commemoration of Kim Chong Yung, a pioneer of modern Korean sculpture, in whose honor the museum was established.

Occupying the entirety of the museum's new building and its outdoor spaces, the exhibition presented works by fifty-eight artists who have been associated with the Modern Space Association, ranging from senior members to artists in their twenties, alongside historical materials that trace the transformations of sculptural language over the past half-century.

The exhibition brought together works by the seven founding artists of 1968—Nam Cheol, Oh Jong Wook, Lee Jung Gap, Joo Hai Joon, Choi Byeong sang, Choi Jong Tae, and Choi Choung Woong—as well as works by thirty-eight artists who were active members in 2017.

In addition, works by former members and eleven deceased artists who had joined and departed from the association over its fifty-year history were exhibited together in one place, making the exhibition a meaningful occasion that carried forward the Modern Space Association's spirit of openness and artistic exchange.
