Professor Yun Taejun of the Department of Photography and Visual Media at Gwangju University (President Kim Dong-jin) has been named one of the final selected artists for the ‘26/27 MH Talent Portfolio,’ organized by Museum Hanmi, Korea’s first museum specializing in photography.

‘MH Talent Portfolio’ is a program through which Museum Hanmi discovers artists in their 30s and 40s and supports them through exhibitions, publications, and overseas networks, with the aim of fostering sustained collaboration and growth between artists and the museum. This open call was conducted through in-depth reviews by external experts and the curatorial team, as well as on-site presentations.

Professor Yun Taejun was recognized for his distinctive body of work and selected as one of the final four artists: Yun Taejun, Kwon Doyeon, Lee Sehyun, and Lee Haneul.

In particular, following the program matching process, Professor Yun was ultimately selected for the “exhibition support” category. Accordingly, he will hold a solo exhibition at Museum Hanmi in 2027 and receive practical support, including the publication of a catalogue related to the exhibition.

Professor Yun Taejun has used photography not merely as a means of documentation, but as a medium for reconstructing the ways in which bodies and objects are perceived. Recognizing the digital environment as a structure that transforms the conditions of photography itself, he has continued to explore the expansion of visual experience through experiments that move between printed matter and the screen.

Meanwhile, Professor Yun Taejun continues his active artistic practice while nurturing the next generation of students in the Department of Photography and Visual Media at Gwangju University. This coming April, he is also scheduled to participate in 《Come back home》, a themed exhibition of the Seoul Photo Festival held at the Seoul Museum of Photography.
