In June 2025, we invite you to the 2nd chapter of our international photography exchange series: 《New Pictures》.

In this chapter, 《New Pictures》, photography’s inherent sensibility flows through light and time, transforming into video, object, and book. If the “Pictures” group led by Douglas Crimp in the 1970s redrew the boundary between painting and photography, today's photography moves even further—beyond the frame, beyond the still image. Photographic perception now unfolds as narrative.

The terrain of media is constantly shifting. As printed photobooks, as projected slideshows—photography no longer remains fixed in one place. This exhibition features 6 artists, each selected by curators Nathalie Boseul Shin (Korea) and Iketani  Shuichi (Japan). Through different languages and visual vocabularies, these artists quietly—yet profoundly—sketch a “new picture” that lies beyond the photographic frame.

So, can we still call this photography?
Perhaps photography—like the Big Bang that sparked the birth of the universe—contains within it the seed of a new way of sensing the world.
