Artist Yi Ji Yeon has been selected as the Grand Prize winner of the 3rd ETRO Art Prize.

Established in 2012 by the Italian luxury fashion house ETRO, the ETRO Art Prize is awarded annually under the belief that “the advancement of art accompanies the growth of fashion.”

Yi Ji Yeon received the Grand Prize for her work Goddess of the Hearth, which portrays aspects of women’s lives. ETRO commented, “The women depicted in her paintings are stronger than anyone else and are portrayed as independent figures who shape their own destinies.”

The Gold Prize was awarded to Koo Jiyoon, while the Silver Prize was awarded to Kim Yun, Kim Hyena, Baek Hyohoon, and Yu Jeongyeon. Prize money amounted to KRW 20 million for the Grand Prize winner, KRW 10 million for the Gold Prize winner, and KRW 5 million for each Silver Prize recipient.

All award recipients will be given the opportunity to hold an exhibition at Baekwoon Gallery, located within ETRO’s headquarters in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, six months to one year after the award ceremony. The awards ceremony will take place on August 21 at Baekwoon Gallery.
