As Gwangju declares its leap forward as a global hub city for digital art, it will hold the “2025 Digital Art Culture Lab” showcase. Held under the theme 《Echoes of Light》, the event will take place from December 9 to 21 at G.MAP.

The 2025 Digital Art Culture Lab showcase is a strategic creative support program of Gwangju Media Art Platform(Director Kim Heokyung), designed to discover and foster emerging creators, producers, and young artists in the field of digital art, and to promote the revitalization of Gwangju’s culture and arts industry.

A total of 24 teams(10 project lab teams and 14 incubating lab individuals) will participate, presenting diverse works that explore the intersection of technology and art.

In the Project Lab section, eight emerging Korean artist teams and two global artists participate, conveying future-oriented messages through digital art. In the Incubating Lab, 14 individual artists who underwent three months of intensive training and production will unveil for the first time the outcomes through which they unfold their respective artistic worlds.

On December 9, an opening event will begin at 1 p.m. in Exhibition Room 4 on the third floor of Gwangju Media Art Platform, followed by a production presentation from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. At this event, the participating artists will directly explain the intentions and processes behind the production of their works and communicate with viewers.

The works can be viewed free of charge in Exhibition Rooms 2 and 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until December 21. The exhibition includes digital creations that encompass audiovisual experience, such as immersive media art, kinetic art, anamorphic art, and sound performance, offering viewers a rich sensory experience.
