Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 8th that artist Hyungkyu Kim had been selected as the Grand Prix winner of the “2nd VH Award,” a media art competition organized by the group.

At the award ceremony held on the 7th at the group’s Mabuk Campus Human Resources Development Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, Kim’s work Hear the Wind_Across the Border was selected as the top prize winner and awarded a cash prize of 30 million KRW.

The VH Award was established to discover promising emerging Korean artists with outstanding talent and to support their creative practices. Works by Jung Hwayong and Sung Rok Choi, who were selected as finalists alongside Kim, will be screened for approximately two years beginning next month at “Vision Hall,” the media art gallery located on the Mabuk Campus.

In addition, each of the three artists will receive 30 million KRW in production support funding. They will also be given the opportunity to participate in a three-week mentorship program at the Ars Electronica Center, one of the world’s leading museums dedicated to media art.
