The Korea Heritage Service (Administrator Choi Eungcheon) and the Korea Heritage Agency (President Choi Youngchang) are holding the special exhibition 《Transcendencia: La vida》 at the Korean Cultural Center in Argentina, Buenos Aires. The exhibition opened on November 21 and runs through November 30.
This exhibition is part of the “Korean Intangible Heritage Week” program, aimed at introducing the unique value and beauty of Korea’s intangible heritage abroad and promoting cultural exchange. Argentina, which designated November 22 as “Kimchi Day,” has shown strong interest in Korean culture, and this exhibition is expected to further deepen local understanding.
《Transcendencia: La vida》 presents the theme that the techniques and values of Korean intangible heritage transcend time and space, continuing from the past into the present. A total of 148 craft works by inheritors of 21 categories of national intangible heritage—such as bow-making, metalware, inlay, embroidery, sewing, and hat-making—are on display.

The opening ceremony, held at 7 p.m. on November 21 at the Korean Cultural Center in Argentina, was attended by approximately 80 guests, including Jo Jinyoung, Director of the Intangible Heritage Promotion Division of the Korea Heritage Agency; Lee Yongsoo, Ambassador to Argentina; Han Bohwa, Director of the Korean Cultural Center; and Rocío Boffo, Director of the Museo Nacional de Arte Oriental.
The ceremony began with a congratulatory speech by Han Bohwa, followed by traditional performance celebrations. Visitors were also offered opportunities to experience Korean cuisine such as royal confectionery, bulgogi, and ilyeop pyeonju, presenting diverse aspects of Korean culture including crafts, music, and food.
Jo Jinyoung stated, “We hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to widely introduce the unique value of Korea’s intangible heritage to the people of Argentina,” adding, “We expect that it will further promote cultural understanding and lead to deeper cultural exchange and cooperation between the two countries.”
The exhibition is open on weekdays (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and Saturdays (12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.), and admission is free. More information can be found on the websites of the Korea Heritage Service (www.khs.go.kr) and the Korea Heritage Agency (www.kh.or.kr).
