《Art of Love》 is an exhibition that explores a particular terrain of contemporary Korean art through works from the collections of curators. In particular, it invites curators who have either established a brand or platform for such activities, or have been meaningfully involved in them, as mediators and facilitators of exhibitions, and introduces works from their collections.

Exhibition introduction:
Curators in the field collect artworks for various reasons.
1. Out of a sense of debt for not being able to provide sufficient budgets (to artists who are their partners).
2. To support (artists they like) emotionally.
3. (In practical cases) because the storage of exhibition spaces becomes full.
4. (Sometimes) because the artist simply gives them the work.

This complex set of circumstances leads this ‘collection’ into a completely different phase from that of collectors who purchase, collect, exhibit, and sell artworks. In other words, a curator’s collection is both a list of testimonies about private, psychological, and intimate relationships that sustain and preserve the broader art system, and a unique assertion of an individual’s taste, grounded in their own sensibility (and as a means of generating artistic added value). The exhibition loosely observes the points at which these elements gather or disperse, and traces the personal motivations that cannot be fully captured by theoretical inquiry or art historical research. Furthermore, it raises the question of the fundamental force that allows us to sustain and cultivate them.

〈Rules〉
1. Exhibits works from the collections of curators.
2. The list of participating curators consists of those who are currently engaged in exhibition planning as their primary practice, those who have their own platforms for exhibitions, or those who have performed equivalent roles within specific institutional contexts.
3. Hosts talks by each curator and invites artists and works connected to them together.
