The dancheong patterns contained within traditional architecture are combined with the forms and proportions of windows found in modern architecture. The grid-structured canvas frame presents a form similar to that of traditional architectural window frames. This series overlaps the form of the canvas frame with dancheong patterns.

The windows of a hanok can be removed and reattached, functioning to open and close space. Organized vertically and horizontally, these windows serve an architectural function that connects the interior and exterior, while also embodying a grid structure that presents a refined formal beauty.

The exhibition space brings together traditional Korean wooden architecture and modern architecture. Through the windows within the exhibition space, the work attempts to capture the movement of our gaze across boundaries. Although the role and function of windows differ between traditional Korean architecture and Western architecture, the work aims to convey the coexistence of tradition and modernity through the connection of inside and outside viewpoints and the balanced beauty seen in vertical and horizontal structures.
