The Yonkang Foundation of the Doosan Group held the award ceremony for the ‘First DOOSAN Yonkang Arts Awards’ on the 5th at the Doosan Art Center, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Park Doo-Byung, the group’s founding chairman. The DOOSAN Yonkang Arts Awards were established to honor the late chairman’s long-standing emphasis on the importance of nurturing talent.

The award recognizes promising artists under the age of 40 in the fields of performing arts and visual arts who are expected to contribute to promoting the excellence of Korean art on the global stage. At the ceremony, Nakhyung Kim (40) was selected as the recipient in the performing arts category, while Donghee Koo (36), Kim Siyeon (39), and Park Meena (37) were honored in the visual arts category.

Park Yong-hyun, chairman of the foundation, stated, “My late father, Chairman Park Doo-Byung, regarded the cultivation of talent as the most important management philosophy,” emphasizing that “beyond corporate management, discovering and supporting talents in the cultural and artistic fields is also one of the social responsibilities of a corporation.”
