The first solo exhibition by photographer Yezoi Hwang was held at d/p, an exhibition space on the 4th floor of Nakwon Musical Instrument Arcade. Hwang is a young photographer who has steadily communicated with the public through SNS and publications, building her own sphere of activity over time.

Titled 《Mago》, the exhibition presents a matrilineal genealogy of images that are at once intimate and unfamiliar, composed of photographs of female portraits, landscapes, and objects. Whereas the artist previously explored narratives of family through images of her mother and sister, 《Mago》 marks a shift in which this narrative expands outward into the external world.

The exhibition also introduces works by fellow photographers who depart from conventional photographic formats. In addition, the show was organized through collaborations with artists from various fields, including musicians, poets, and craftspeople.

The exhibition ran until Saturday, July 20, and was open from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Admission was free. Further information about the exhibition could be found on the official d/p website (www.dslashp.org).

A representative from Nakwon Arcade stated, “Taking into account the diversity of genres, we prepared this photography exhibition following previous exhibitions of fine art, performance, and video,” adding, “We hope for continued interest so that Nakwon Musical Instrument Arcade can become a space where visitors encounter diverse forms of art beyond instruments and music.”
