Prain Global announced on the 18th that it will launch a limited edition of the premium French wine ‘Maury (MAURY)’ in collaboration with pop artist Lee Donggi, widely known for his iconic ‘Atomaus.’

The ‘Maury’ wine, introduced in Korea for the first time, was produced in France with direct participation from leading Korean pop artist Lee Donggi and France-based photographer Yum Joongho, and imported by Prain Global.

The label, designed by Lee Donggi and bearing his handwritten signature, enhances its collectible value. Lee Donggi is a leading figure in Korean pop art, known for rendering popular imagery through the language of fine art. The ‘Atomaus’ featured on the ‘Maury’ label is a character combining Astro Boy and Mickey Mouse, and is regarded as one of Korea’s most iconic pop art images, beloved both domestically and internationally. In 2006, Lee Donggi’s work AtoMouse Eating Noodles was sold at Sotheby’s New York for USD 15,600, demonstrating the global appeal of ‘Atomaus.’

‘Maury’ is a premium organic wine certified by the French government under the AOP designation. It is produced at Domaine Pouderoux, a winery in southern France with six generations of history and tradition. With an alcohol content of 15.5%, ‘Maury’ has a higher alcohol level than typical wines, allowing for long-term aging. It possesses excellent potential, with its flavor expected to improve over 15 to 20 years.

The limited-edition ‘Maury’ will be available at Pure Arena in Gwanghwamun, Gonggongjangso in Hapjeong, and Ilhoschic in Nonhyeon, priced at 100,000 KRW. Each bottle is printed with an edition number and comes in special packaging created collaboratively by Prain Global and Lee Donggi. A total of 1,000 bottles will be released, and further information can be found at the 50/50 brand shop (50-50shop.co.kr).
