The 30th International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA 2025) takes place across Seoul from Friday, May 23 to Thursday, May 29, 2025, with main venues including the Seoul Arts Center and Seoul National University.

Founded in 1990 in the Netherlands by the international nonprofit ISEA International, ISEA is a cross-disciplinary academic symposium at the intersection of culture, art, science, and technology, convening leading practitioners and scholars in electronic arts creation, theory, and technology. Marking its 30th edition, ISEA comes to Seoul under the theme “Dong-Dong (憧憧): Creators’ Universe,” aiming for a united, global solidarity.

Academic programs will be hosted at Seoul National University and Sogang University, with special thematic sessions developed in collaboration with the Nam June Paik Art Center, the ISEA Archive, and Art Center Nabi’s Education Team: “Nam June Paik: Live Science Fiction Movie,” “New Media Art Archive,” and “Barriers and Exclusion in Media Art Education.”

The art program centers on the Seoul Arts Center and the Seoul National University Museum of Art, presenting exhibitions of internationally noted works alongside performances (AR/VR, audiovisual), citizen-participation workshops, and talks organized with partner institutions. In addition, the program will survey the current landscape of media art in collaboration with domestic and international art-tech platforms.

In Korea, partners include Arts Council Korea, the Asia Culture Center, the Korea Arts Management Service, and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. Internationally, the Québec Government Office in Seoul supports the Focus Quebec program, which introduces works from leading Québec institutions such as ELEKTRA.
