CJ CGV received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award in the culture and arts category, as well as recognition in digital content and transportation, at Korea’s largest digital industry awards ceremony, the “2022 & Award (Awards for New Digital Award),” held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas.

Now in its 16th year, the “2022 & Award” is organized by the Korea Digital Enterprise Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation, and the Korea Internet & Security Agency. The event honors outstanding works that have contributed to the digital industry over the past year.

The award-winning project in the culture and arts category, “ARTscape,” is a portmanteau of “ART” from media art and “SCAPE” from landscape. It has revitalized the city by transforming Gangnam-daero into a digital cultural arts street. Through a massive digital canvas connecting the “G-LIGHT” media platform and five media façades, audiences can experience artworks three times every evening.

The first ARTscape program planned by CJ CGV, “ARTscape x Public,” was developed in collaboration with the Art Bank of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA). The program aims to present cultural and artistic content to a broader public by using art as a medium within public spaces equipped with media platforms. Participating artists include Kim Bohie, Hong Purume, Jung Jongmee, and Kim Jipyeong. The new media art group VERS reinterpreted the artists’ static paintings into media art, bringing new vitality to two-dimensional works.
