Korean Ceramics is launching a full-scale effort to attract younger customers with a new brand called “YAP (Young Artists Project),” created in collaboration with young designers.

On the 17th, the company announced the release of “YAP,” a design collaboration line developed with emerging artists. Following this launch, Korean Ceramics plans to expand its product lineup—currently including plates, mugs, and salad bowls—to items such as teacups, while continuing to discover additional artists for future collaborations.

“YAP” is a product brand that applies pop art paintings by four emerging artists affiliated with Gana Art Center—Kim Jipyeong, Kim Taejoong, Mari Kim, and Charles Jang—to ceramic ware. The company will present around 30 different YAP products in a gallery-style display at its Yeonhui-dong store in Seoul.

In addition, under the title “Pop & Party!,” an exhibition featuring both the artists’ paintings and Korean Ceramics products will be held at Lotte Gallery Cheongnyangni from the 18th through next month. The exhibition will then tour nationwide, starting with the Cheongnyangni and Anyang branches.

Kim Young-eun, CEO of Korean Ceramics Special Sales, stated, “While Korean Ceramics has long enjoyed strong recognition among older generations, it has not actively engaged younger audiences.” She added, “Amid the influx of imported ceramics, we felt the need to protect our market ourselves, which led us to create a bold new brand capable of appealing to younger consumers.” She also noted, “The newly launched ‘YAP’ line reflects the tastes of younger generations and is priced more affordably than our existing products.”
