Hkason has been exploring material that covers the human body like skin, and the act of wearing it, and constructed performances like theatrical stage based on a playful system of relationships between the body, objects, and space.

HKASON has been deeply engrossed in the physical acts of wearing and covering that are generated based on the relationship between the body and objects. These acts transition to the relationship between the body and space, achieving gradual expansion.

Hkason’s new project, 《MIRROR AND CLOAK》 began with the question of how a mechanical body endowed with presence could update the agile yet serene, subtle yet monumental physical movements of human body. The performer, a fused and connected body, attempted to destroy boundaries formed within a space sensed by sound and light through drawing patterns, making turns, and striking poses.

The movements that wrapped the body and space reflected the physical sense of the body while subverting the relationship between the body and space by wrapping the physical space. Just as buildings resembled the organic vitality and form of the body, space and body endlessly mimicked and reflected each other like mirrors and merged into one like a cloak wrapping the body.
