In conjunction with ISEA2025 (the 30th International Symposium on Electronic Art), the Seocho Cultural Foundation will host a roundtable for media artists under 40, “2025 Seocho X ISEA Young Artists MEET-UP,” on Sunday, May 25, at Seoripul Youth Art Gallery.

Hosted and organized by Art Center Nabi and the Seoul National University Institute for Art & Culture, with the Seoul Arts Center as a co-host, ISEA2025 is the world’s largest media art symposium and festival. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this year’s edition takes place in Seoul under the theme “Dong-Dong: Creators’ Universe.”

The program features exhibitions, performances, academic presentations, and workshops showcasing cutting-edge electronic art and new media works, with more than 400 researchers and artists from around the world who are leading the art-tech field in attendance.

Planned in collaboration with the Seocho Cultural Foundation, this roundtable is designed as a platform for communication and exchange between domestic and international media artists and artists based in Seocho District.

The event will be open not only to ISEA2025 participating artists and stakeholders and artists showing at Seoripul Youth Art Gallery, but also to the general public. It will begin with an opening performance by AVAD (Abad), the music group that includes Jiyun Jeong, an artist participating in the Seoripul Youth Art Gallery exhibition 《Majukgeori (馬竹巨里)》. The program will continue with an artists’ roundtable and networking session, followed by a makgeolli tasting held in partnership with the traditional liquor brand “Boksoondoga.” The proceedings will be moderated by curator Park Jaeyong, an art-specialized interpreter.

Round Table Panel

At the roundtable, participating artists from both Seoripul Youth Art Gallery and ISEA2025 will share their creative processes and engage in discussion and Q&A on the present and future of digital media art and experiments with the medium. Panelists include Kwanwoo Park, an artist in the Seoripul Youth Art Gallery exhibition 《How big is this exhibition space?》; Seongjin Choi and Jiyun Jeong, artists in 《Majukgeori (馬竹巨里)》; and ISEA2025–selected artists Yuyang Jiang, Vijay Thillaimuthu, and Finley Wegener.

Taking place on the stage of Seoripul Youth Art Gallery—which, since its opening in 2018, has hosted more than 600 young artists—“2025 Seocho X ISEA Young Artists MEET-UP” is expected to provide Seocho-based artists with a venue for global networking and exchange.

Through this event, the Seocho Cultural Foundation aims to enhance Seocho District’s image as a city of culture and the arts, and to contribute to revitalizing the local arts scene and expanding audiences.
