《Item Inventory》 begins with the posthuman elements of “wearability” and “body enhancement” inherent in wearable devices. In online games, the avatar—a character directly controlled by the player in a virtual world—can be regarded as an extension of the user’s self or body. The clothing, items, and equipment of such game characters enhance their abilities or grant them special powers, resembling the functions of wearable devices in the real world.

In this exhibition, Park creates a ceramic sculpture series by combining visual digital elements such as in-game costumes, items, and devices, and arranges these within the gallery space to resemble an in-game item inventory. Through this, she generates a unique, uncanny atmosphere. By employing clay and fire—materials that humanity has used since antiquity—she contemporarily reinterprets digital devices and environments with traditional mediums.

Reproducing visual elements of networked digital space through ceramics blends the digital with the familiar handcrafted, offering viewers an opportunity to reconsider the longstanding continuity of human creativity and productivity.
