In her first solo exhibition 《Gloryhole : Splash-Flash》 in 2018, Gloryhole interprets the multifaceted impressions of light through her distinctive sensibility, presenting a variety of installations, drawings, and video works. Through video pieces such as Mr. Roy.G.Biv’s Day and Night(2015) and Volcano and Iceberg(2018), viewers are invited to a deeper understanding of the outer and inner dimensions of lighting—revealing Gloryhole’s own definition and attitude toward light.

At the center of the exhibition hall, around 150 light bulbs of different shapes and colors emit a luminous display, evoking the image of plankton illuminating the night sea in soft blue hues, immersing the space in a marine-like glow. In addition, drawings created during the conceptualization of the lights and archival photographs documenting the crafted bulbs stir up a shimmering “splash-flash” of Gloryhole’s light within the viewer’s imagination.
