Jeong Kyungja, selected in the exhibition
category, was recognized for her sincere depiction of everyday scenes through
traditional photographic techniques without any retouching or manipulation. Her
work conveys a delicate and sensitive perspective, interpreting the surrounding
world through her own lens while pursuing visual completeness in a distinctly
photographic manner.
Established in 2009, the Ilwoo Photography
Award aims to discover promising photographers with talent and passion, marking
its fifth edition this year. Each year, two to three competitive artists are
selected and supported through production and exhibitions to foster their
growth into internationally recognized artists. In particular, winners in the
publication category are given the opportunity to publish a monograph with the
renowned German art book publisher Hatje Cantz, supporting their advancement into
the global art scene.
