Ji Yongho graduated from Hongik University’s Department of Sculpture (2005) and obtained a Master’s degree in Fine Art from New York University Graduate School (2008). He made his debut on the art scene using unfamiliar material, tires.

Gana
Art is pleased to present a solo exhibition of Ji Yongho(b. 1978 -) introducing
the “New Mutant” series. Ji is mostly known for his ‘Mutant’ series of
sculptures using waste tires. For the exhibition, he chose various media such
as bronze, aluminum, and 3D printing based on computer technology, breaking
away from the waste tires that he has used as the main material for his work.
His new work will be declared as “New Mutant” and will be presented with a new
perspective that reinterprets the characteristics of authentic sculptures such
as shapes, materials, colors, and textures. With Ji’s “New Mutant,” the
exhibition is expected to show the possibility of various expansion into
contemporary sculptures, rather than to stay in existing abstract or conceptual
sculptures.
