The Korea Foundation (KF, President Kim Gheewhan) is presenting the group exhibition 《Unlocking Time》 at the KF XR Gallery, a digital public diplomacy exhibition space in Jung-gu, Seoul, through January 24, 2025.

The exhibition examines the concept of virtuality that emerges when narratives of the past are recorded and remembered as history in the present or the future. Rather than viewing the past, present, and future as a linear and chronological sequence, the exhibition reinterprets them as temporal dimensions capable of coexisting and engaging in dialogue with one another. Through immersive technologies and media art, the exhibition presents works that reflect on historical moments in Korea and Colombia while offering contemporary perspectives on their cultural and historical significance.

Participating artists include Gala Porras-Kim (Colombian–Korean); Korean artists Koo Beomseok, Sejin Kim, ROOMTONE, DEFAULT, Yoo Sanghyun, HUT-GUT, and the Interactive Arts Research & Development Team of the Asia Culture Center (ACC); as well as Colombian artists Sergio Bromberg and Irene Lema. The exhibition features augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and media art installations. It also premieres two mixed reality (MR) works created with KF's support and experienced through Apple Vision Pro.

The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Colombia in Korea, the Korea Heritage Service, the Korea Heritage Agency, the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), the Asia Culture Center (ACC), the SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation, and the Music and Audio Computing Laboratory (MAC Lab) at the KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology.

KF President Kim Gheewhan stated, "We hope this exhibition will transcend the boundaries of time and provide a meaningful opportunity for Korea and Colombia to deepen mutual understanding and empathy while fostering continued exchange and cooperation between the two countries."

Admission to the KF XR Gallery is free. More information about the exhibition is available through the Korea Foundation's official website (www.kf.or.kr) and social media channels, including Instagram and YouTube.
