On the 17th, Chanel Korea and Frieze announced their partnership to produce a video series titled "Now & Next", highlighting both emerging and established contemporary Korean artists. This series will be unveiled for the first time during the inaugural Frieze Week in Seoul.

Through this new collaboration with Frieze, Chanel Korea continues its global commitment to contemporary culture. During Frieze Seoul, Chanel Korea will host various programs, including video screenings and special events, to showcase the dynamic and increasingly influential Korean cultural scene.

The "Now & Next" video series, produced by Frieze with Chanel Korea’s support, features six Korean artists: three established figures (Jina Park, Kelvin Kyungkun Park, Heeseung Chung) and three emerging talents (Yoo Ye-rim, Lee Yoo-sung, Kim Kyung-tae).

Each established artist was paired with an emerging artist to engage in an intergenerational artistic dialogue, connecting their current achievements with future artistic visions.

This video series will be premiered during Frieze Week, starting on August 29, at a special art talk event held at Chanel’s flagship store in Seoul.
Patrick Lee, Director of Frieze Seoul, stated:

"It is an honor to collaborate with many Korean galleries, artists, and partners for Frieze's first-ever project in Asia. Our partnership with Chanel Korea is the perfect choice to further introduce Korea’s cultural scene to a global audience."

Yana Peel, Global Head of Arts and Culture at Chanel, commented: "During Frieze Week, we are excited to engage with Seoul’s dynamic contemporary art scene and participate in the ongoing cultural dialogue. We are confident that this collaboration will expand Chanel’s spirit of fostering bold ideas that advance art and culture."

Frieze Seoul 2022 will feature over 110 galleries, focusing on contemporary art, alongside a special section dedicated to Frieze Masters, which will showcase artworks from antiquity to the 20th century. The highly anticipated Frieze Art Fair, celebrating Korea’s thriving art scene, will take place from September 2 to 5 at COEX.
