Lee
Yongbaek received his BFA in Painting from the College of
Fine Arts, Hongik University, Seoul, in 1990. He later studied at the
Staatliche Akademie der bildenden Künste Stuttgart in Germany, completing Freie
Malerei in 1993 and earning his MFA in Bildhauerei in 1995. Since then, he has
been actively engaged in exhibitions and projects both in Korea and
internationally.

Hakgojae Gallery presents 《The Moment, We Awe》, highlighting a group of
artists who are working in the center of the contemporary art with as the next
promising generation.
Chae Gap Yun, director of HOW Art Museum in Shanghai, curated this
exhibition; he is recognized to be a curator at the forefront of the art world
of China and Korea.

《The Moment, We Awe》 is
the first exhibition of a series project by Chae Gap Yun, which will focus on
introducing works related to his phenomenal experiences while traveling in
Annapurna.
The participating Korean artists are Seok Lee, Yongbaek Lee, Suyoung
Heo; and participating Chinese artists are Ni Youyu(倪有鱼),
Jin Yangping(金阳平), Qiu anxiong(邱黯雄). 30 mixed media paintings, videos and installations will be on
view. Hakgojae Gallery hopes this exhibition to be a place to exchange cultures
of Korea and China, and to investigate where Asian contemporary art needs to
move forward.
